Hi folks,
I have been reading this book called 'Wild at Heart' and it is decent. I believe in the general problem it sheds light on (at least for me). That is that I have been somewhat emasculated for a majority of my life. It may be seen by the general society that some emasculation of men would be good, as it may be portrayed as 'learning how to explicitly show weakness'. But I also believe that what people believe masculinity is as a whole has become perverted but the same society. IMO in its original use case, masculinity is driven to be authentic. As humans, man authentically would show weakness. But that same masculinity would protect, defend, and fight for what they love and believe. Not to say women wouldn't do that, but the means of doing the preceding sentence between men and women would be different. However, society would complain about that though on just grounds because humans, comprised of both men and women, should have the same implicit characteristics or could over time carry the same implicit (intelligence, emotional) characteristics no matter the gender or sex. But so far it seems like that isn't the case (see greater male variability hypothesis and gender difference in the Big Five Personality traits). Thus I believe that the means of accomplishing authenticity would vary between men and women, ceteris paribus. Thus what masculinity and femininity are is finding how to be authentically male and female. Fight me.
Note: Wild at Heart solution to finding your authentic masculinity is to find God. So if you aren't religious I would go for Iron John: A Book about Men.
Onto the Cheesecake Review.
I was planning on going to this place called MacSweets, and Google told me that they were open till 5 pm. I had an appointment at 3 so I planned on getting there at 4. It was 30 minutes away and with CoVID and driving a ton in the objective of moving, I was sick of driving really any distance. At least the music was good on the way (Chris Stapleton, Justin Bieber, 1975, Post Malone) definitely solid list. I got there and it was closed. Thanks Google you have failed me, you should be on top of this and figuring out CoVid hours. I expect you to rule the world by 2050 and this isn't going to get you the world. I retreated back to my car and looked up places with Cheesecakes and what do you know there was a philly cheesesteak place down the road serving Cheesecake. The place was called Main Street Philly (menu here). Now I love me so Philly cheesesteak, and I know I will be back for their Philly cheesesteak when I heard they offer cheese whizz. My dude.
But going to be blunt pretty sure they got their Cheesecake from Save-a-lot next door cause it was easy to tell it was frozen. Seven bucks for one of those frozen Cheesecakes when I could have gotten a pie for the same price. It was decent but ya not worth the drive. No crust taste either.
Overall Score: 6.1/10
P.S. Libe Barer, do you have a Band-Aid? Cause I scrapped my knee falling for you.
