Jao Thai Cheesecake Review

 Hey folks,

I have recently watched the Social Dilemma which led me to immediately overreact and deactivate facebook. While it is somewhat fear-mongering, that show does bring up some valid points about social media influences on people, especially teenagers. I would recommend watching it if you haven't gotten the chance. Also I have been getting a bit stir-crazy with Covid. While Trump is crazy, he did lead the effort (like anyone with the arsenal of the US government should) to getting the vaccine out as fast as possible. I'd consider that to be one of the positives he had (on top of the space program I swear Biden if you change NASA goals cause DAE hate republicans I will internally scream; you have bigger fish to fry let it continue on the current path). Supposedly the vaccine will be here by end of the year but there are folks who have been persuaded that vaccines suck out your soul so I doubt we will be fully back to normal until like March of next year.

Onto the Cheesecake Review:

I met up with some random folks at this place called Jao Thai. From listening to a few of these folks talk, its the second best Thai place in the area (link to menu here). I noticed that they had Cheesecake (fried though) and in the interest of not going out of my way to go to a Cheesecake place for this review, I ordered their version. Funny thing about getting to Jao, I walked into this other deli sandwich shop next door by accident. I looked around a bit too long before realizing I wasn't in the right place and one of the owners asked if I wanted anything. My anxiety took over and instead of saying I was in the wrong place I ordered something (Ironically I told him I was in the wrong place anyways). Turns out that food I ate there was pretty good and I am probably going to go back specifically to get a deli sandwich.

Anyways Jao Thai Cheesecake is fried so basically then take a frozen Cheesecake, dip it in batter, dip it in the fryer for X number of minutes and ta da its done. Drizzle chocolate, side of ice cream to go along for the ride. As a southern gentleman it is pretty hard to fuck up fried anything. But for frying something like Cheesecake it is a delicate dance of timing how long you leave the frozen Cheesecake in the fryer. Too little, part of the Cheesecake is frozen still. Too long you ruin the Cheesecake. Jao went for too little and thus it wasn't as good as other fried Cheesecake I have had. Furthermore, its fried Cheesecake it really doesn't matter how good you make the Cheesecake itself; it is going to have to be frozen, which degrades the flavor and it will be covered with batter, which grays out the flavor. Fried Cheesecake is a great dessert, but a shit Cheesecake.

Overall Score: 5.9/10

P.S. Libe Barer, are you religious? Cause you are the answer to all of my prayers.
