Hello again. I am going to do my sassy talking for a few sentences. So if you have ever meet people (there are a lot of you and yes I am being a bit hypocritical in some areas) that seem to have this 'God complex' (aka they are the best at doing stuff no matter how much training they have), then I feel bad. Listening to these people state, without any hint of sarcasm, that they are better at this thing that is only at best a hobby of theirs over some people who do it for a living, and worked their butts off to get to where they are, and make cha ching from it, is like listening to diarrhea spew out of a butt. Given that its diarrhea I typically do my best to completely ignore it. But sometimes I get pissed, forcing me to do my best to remind that person with a 'God complex' that he/she is a mere mortal who will die at the end of the day and become the exact same speck of dust as the rest of us. Whether that reminder is indirectly telling them they suck at their hobby or to make it to where they learn that they aren't as good as they think they are at the hobby. Maybe I'm just picking up some anger tendencies from a friend of mine because I just want to punch those people in the face sometimes. But hey if that helps them inflate their tiny we we, I will need to learn to deal with it and accept that it is what it is. #lyfe
Onto the Cheesecake review.
So I was running out of opportunities this week to go get some Cheesecake from somewhere. Believe it or not I'm on a diet (got high cholesterol) and thus me going out requires other people with me and a location at which Cheesecake is available on the limited times I do go out. I am also friends mostly with broke graduate students, who really limit my options given that they are broke grad students. I can say for myself that I am a broke grad student as well, but I do have a upper class white family background that takes me out more often than not. #whiteprivilege Given that I was desperate this week and went for a place that I knew had Cheesecake. This place was Jamo's Cafe. It is a local Mediterranean style walk in diner that serves your typical Greek food. Here is a yelp review of the place as its so local in the state of Alabama it does not have a website. I usually go for the gyro there, its pretty standard, nothing too exciting but gets the job done. It is near not the best part of town, so I would recommend not hanging around that area at night, especially if you are an upper class white kid. Unless you are an upper class white kid who has bodyguards or has samurai swords or like to take it up the anus. You might find some hookers around there though so maybe if you are into getting your rocks off. #firstworldproblems
The Cheesecake there has a blueberry mix with chocolate crust inside and advertised as a New York style Cheesecake. It also had a cream topping. I think one of the problems with it initially was the presentation. Like yes I asked for it to go, but still that could have been better. The cream topping was a bit mushed on the top and the cake itself looked like it might have been slapped around a few times in the fridge by the other cakes. The other cakes were like, 'You are a weak Cheesecake I'm going to mozzarella the brie out of you.' Ya, something like that. The taste though was pretty good. Texture was a bit iffy, especially in the areas that the Cheesecake got beaten blue. But the thing is that I believe they actually used real blueberries in the cake which I gave two brownie points for despite it not being pure angelic white only #cheesecakeracist. I think the real selling point is the crust. The chocolate crust was not overpowering at all like it could have been yet not under-powering either. It perfectly enhanced the Cheesecake's overall flavor significantly more so that many of the other crusts I've had. Sometimes those dark flavors really make your mouth excited, as this one did with the Cheesecake. In totality, could have been better.
Overall Score 7.8/10
