So I am going back to Huntsville for the time being. Very disappointed in how things turned out from a researchers perspective, but this gives me more time to work on my writing to get done with my graduation at a faster rate. And my boss was all like "cheesecakelover, you will be bored in the office lets send you on a detail to where your field actually is." So YOLO basically. Who knows what the fudge balls I will be doing in half a year. I might actually have a girl.....lol jk but seriously Libe Barer marry me.
Onto the Cheesecake review.
The place I visited was Molly's Seafood Shack, a place at Merritt Island (Here is the website). You typical seafood place, but the fun thing about it was that its food portion for its price was super nice. Like I got a bowl of fettuccine alfredo and a shrimp quesadilla for under 10 dollars. The food was also not half bad either, like it was pretty awesome. I'll get to the service in a minute but I want to comment on the concept of Merritt Island. So it is an island that is between the mainland and the barrier island of cocoa beach. So its like the middle child of a family; its doesn't have the high expectations that the first kid has (first kid being cocoa beach with its beachfront property) but its does not have the love a caring from its parents like the youngest has (South Titusville and Cocoa are becoming modernized). With that being said, it has a ton of good ole boys and hicks who love their cajun and seafood, even if its a watered down version of cajun and seafood.
Back to the service, which for that given day was not the best. I put blame the the huge influx of parties that came in along with us but nonetheless we were pissed. Like our bosses were calling us to get our butts back to work missing meeting left and right pissed. You should have seen how fast we ate our food, especially me when I got it. It was like that saying, "if a tree falls and you didn't hear it, did it actually fall?". Except in this situation it was more like, "If you ate the food and you didn't hear the food go through the process of being eaten, was it actually eaten?" I think it was a one-off and if I went back the service would be much quicker.
Funny thing about this is that I got my Cheesecake before my actual meal, so like most kids I was ecstatic that I got my dessert before my meal #soblessed. I did have an appetizer of about 6 rolls with this cinnamon sugar butter that held me over while I waited for the food. So I had something in my system so wasn't African child starving here. They had this special Cheesecake there, which technically was a Cheesecake but was more of a dessert with the name of Cheesecake in it. Sorta like Jon Snow, who officially is a Targaryen by name but also has Stark in him, when Stark is a better name to have. For those who were spoiled by that, you should have had less of a life and binge watch GoT like the rest of us. The Targaryen that this Cheesecake has with it was actually sweet potatoes and some of what I think was cinnamon sugar frosting, which was totally out there. While that sounds like a combination reserved for Anthony Bourdain, O.M.G it was incredible, like one of the better desserts I've had. Let me tell you how great it was. I actually SLOWED down my typical Cheesecake eating speed (which is slower than my typical eating speed...about one mouthful per 10 seconds). Those two really complimented each other very well, and the Cheesecake itself had around the same consistency as the sweet potatoes, making the dessert come together super well. It think my one critic about it was that it needed slightly less cinnamon sugar frosting and more cheesecake and sweet potatoes. Definitely best non-pure Cheesecake I've had in the area.
